Finally i got a mk 1.

Hi every one im new to this site, iv been browsing alot for the past month so decided to sign up.
Iv always wanted a golf i was trying for a mk2 because i thought it would be nearly impossible with my budget to afford a mk1, but i came across this and had to go for it.
I recently came across a mk 1 golf Driver 1.3 petrol.
It had been sitting unused for a year before i got it, so no mot, no tax.
Hoping to get stuck into this although dont have the biggest budget so it will be a long project.

Sorry for the poor pictures ill upload better ones tomorrow.

Cheers for looking.

Welcome Paul, looks tidy. Just start with getting an MOT on it - drive it and enjoy it :)

i think most projects on here take a lot longer than people expect.  mine is 10 years so far, and no where near even drivable!!  then best bit of advice i could give has already been said.  Start with an MOT, drive and enjoy!!  good luck

Cheers for the feedback guys.
I got the car for £700.
The story with is is i know the person who bought it with only 1 owner who took really good care of it then sold it on to a person who lost intrest after there was an attempt so break into it but instead stold the strips off the side and broke a wind mirror off (assholes).

The plans over all is to sort any rust out, the carb needs adjusted as its running very rich and MOT it. Then its time for coil overs and rims, im thinking superlites untill i come across a nice set of BBS's.

Here are a few pictures for now:

Those are some really nice photographs!
I didn't think it would need a lot of work from the first two pictures but considering those you could be in for a while but glad you know that :)

Enjoy it! Will be reading for updates!

That looks like a great wee project car, best of luck with it.
