Dj_atom Mk1 GTI 1983

Hello. I am from Latvia, this is my VW golf Mk1 GTI project. I got my Mk1 on 17.12.2010

inside is 1.8i engine (code DX 112hp) , haw some first deffect: have to paint engine hood,have some problems vith petrl tank(she have a hole)

set up process:

new belt


old belt    









then start to repair a petrol tank







and i tried to clean a petrol tank



and was an other night at garage.

all petrol tank was treated with epoxy glue at end! looks good and now on car, looks fine








an engine hood will be black till spring, then will be warmer.

thank's , its whery difficult to find a GTI petrol tank in latvia,so i had no choise

Looks like you would benefit from the four wheel drive out there at the moment, much like we could in the UK right now!

yes that Whyte Typ 85 coupe is quattro , but not mine,i had the same but Typ81 FWD coupe its my friend quattro. but it doesn't help to fight with snow, its too much it snows all night

A long time wasn't wrote here something, and on X-mas day was in garage
did some little things:
was ehery hard to close/open window,take this mehanism out and (i dont know how to say) oiled it!? now it works easy!

there was a speacers inside too, put a little bit younger DLS

Hello again! A long time wasn't any posts by me install PC and lost this site
In this time was lot of things done!

there will be some pic's from first day when VW is on road's









now some pictures from cleaning works    







and clean interior







then install Motometer instrument panel







then i had problems withs switch in gearbox, for rewerse light
clean it, and works good








then was some problems with engine(head) can't say in english, you will see in photo's





some suprise in 4th cilinder input valve







when i had work about engine , look at sheaves in alternator. and change with new.





i take VAZ 2106 sheaves, and intstall them in! fit great!

in this moment thats all, but will be new updates!

in summer i want so save up money and buy coilover's  :dontknow:

yes, i think will look great, but roads in our country are in bad quality a very lot of pit's on road 175/65 R14 is the last size of hight

ok,
you can fit a set of g60 steels with 195/50/15. thats the best option for you i think.
Steels are very strong :wink:

mostly there is no problem with disc, but with tire wich is not whery high. I want to install a BBS RM R15, or ATS CUP rims i think they look whery nice!

Hmm, i suggested g60 steels to you, because they are stronger than aluminum wheels.
However, ats cups and bbs rm are of course better than others.
also RMs are in different league.

hmm, its true about this league. and BBS RM is whery expensive. but ATS are not so expensive and easy to found in Lv.

hi , today i got one these handle for mk1, from right side, maybe some one have that handle from left side with hole for key? can be broken mehanism,  I am from Latvia…

this was vhery sunny day, have to do something…

Mk1 had washed, cleaned and some other things done!!!





install one of hanlde, does not fit from Jetta Mk1 mehanisms are different, but will have to change from golf





then I repair my VW and Golf GTI emblems. the process

Okey, there was no new posts on my topic and i something have to do on this way  yesterday i bought an Coilover complect. and set up them,but i have to do some regulation jet. But i think this GTI looks better now, next i will earn some money for new rims. i thing some thing like azev rims. I have a two rules, 15 inches and have to see a breake on front-why? that will bee a secret for a this time

I will change rims, i think maybe Azev R15 rims

and then do something with engine, i dont know jet, G60 or 2.0 16V. G60 is whery hard to find in Latvia. and if everything will be okay, maybe new painting. but the same color, dark green metalic. I will trie make this GTI possibly original how i can, exept engine, rims , and some other small things

but on this golf are whery lot of things to do first, before painting and rims lot of small things -> as usual

hello again. i hawe some small updates.

i got new wheels today, Ronal R13 8J with original screw nuts, they are dirty and need a repair and painting. but it all will be. there some pictures from fitting.
i think try a 185/60 tyres, and will see, what will happen
