Hi,

It was one of those dream finds - "one little old lady owner" - literally. It was wheeled out for MOTs and that was it. It had done about 8 miles in the last 4 years which can be good and bad.

I had 2 new front wings put on it 'cos they were doing that MK1 Golf rust thing and it's had a new clutch.

Apart from that, it is bog standard.  :)

Promise I'll try and get some Anglia pics up soon - although this may the wrong forum!!

AbfMk1 - You have a Golf and Anglia too? Any pics?

The colour is weird. Open the tailgate and there is an original sticker stipulating that it is "Manilla Green". However, when it was in the bodyshop having the front wings done they showed me 3 separate colour swatches that were supposedly Manilla Green and none of them matched the car. I thought maybe the green had faded a little in the sun but the colour is the same throughout - even in the boot under the spare wheel! So I persuaded the guys at the bodyshop to experiment to try and get it to match - and fair play, they didn't do a bad job - more yellow needed than the official instructions but what colour this makes the car heaven only knows.

Hairyarse - it had 22K on it when I bought it. It now has 26K

Two very nice cars you've got there. Really like the Golf. A year older than my L.  Are you planning on taking it to any shows this year ?
