Looking good fella, keep up the work.

Quick question, how hard was it to pull the engine and box?  I need to remove mine soon and just wondered if you had anyd advice or tips to make it easier?

it was not that bad my mate took it out for me but the exhaust bolts were sized soild so he found it easyer to take the inlet manifold off so he could get the exhaust manifold off, all in all it took n hour n a half 2 get it out, he did say his subaru 1 was easyer 2 get out tho :? lol

So a though a would do  a how to fit front bits of inner wing, in step by step picture form. unfortuatly a could only tack weld the panel in as i ran out of gas  but a will change the pics at a later tym wen a get sum gas should be wednesday :)  hope it helps people out.

Tools need to carry out the task ahead:-
drill, grinder, belt sander, wire wheel, spot weld drill bit, vise grips  and most of all a welder.

1st bulk cut the front of the inner wing just infront of the first wing bolt hole make sure dont cut behind the hole as u need it to line the new panel up. bulk cutting it will make it easyer to juggle the new panel into place.

2nd wire wheel where the battery tray spot welds the inner wing so u can see the spot weld the drill them off.

3rd cut around the battery tray on the inner wing so its makes it easyer 2 fit the new panel when trail fitting.

4th juggle the new panel into place using the old front inner wing bolt hole put a wing bolt though the new inner wing bolt hole and into the old panel, then clamp the panel into place at the back of the new panel and at the bottom of it.

5th cut  a nice neat staraight line though both panels about 5mm form the back edge of the new panel this is were u will be welding the new panel in.

You could've made your job easier to clean up the chassis legs before welding the inner wings back on mate

Keep up the good work though. Good to see the mk1's being saved  :D
