wouldnt a R1 engine would be tooo highly strung, what about a hyabusa engine isnt that what they use in kit cars etc ?

:cheer:  I've got my husband back :cheer:

it is but the price i whats putting me off the hayabusa is about ?3000 more than the r1 engine

hubby just said that a zx12r would be as good as a hayabusa as the R1 engine has as much horsepower but not as much torque.. just found a zx12r engine on ebay for ?1400

you will require a front sprocket adapter that has a drive shaft flange, so in theory you should be able to do any engine, providing your putting the engine in the bay that is.

busa and blackbird are common hence the high price, r1 will give good power for money but car will need to be lightened to benefit the bike transplant.

fitting the engine up front will be easier and cheaprer, and runnung a prop, the biggest headache will be sourcing and fitting a rear axle,

give me a pm if you want any tech info and contacts ill point you in th e right direction

www.zcars.org.uk just incase your thinking of cutting the back end out and sticking the engine there. I do amateur motorsport called Autograss and bike engined cars are the most popular. I used to run a blackbird and picked one up for ?600 so not too expensive but very reliable and enough power. National Autograss Finals 2008 Class8 - YouTube
