Bike carb icing I think!!

Mk1 golf bike carbs what a pain!! But apart from that when trying to start in mornings it takes bloody ages more like 8 attempts but u get the picture pull choke out and it start which is amazing I'm happy for about 2 secs the it just dies this happens every time till lift off she starts but she dos'nt idle properly trys to stall so have to feather the accelator me thinks carbs r icing on start up anyone got any ideas to sort or just help me find some way 2 get me car starting better thanxs

when was the last time you had the carbs balanced and set up?. my mk1 16v is running bike carbs and it never fails to start and idle straight away, even on the coldest of days.
as with any carb setup the key is making sure they are tuned properly, if they are not you will have problems.

Got them set up last may but had head gasket go so bin off and upside down for a month head bin ported and polished as well!
