at last my mk1 in pics

Hello people
at last i have worked out how to upload pictures. these are of my
mk1 which i picked up about 5 years ago. it has been sleeping in a nice warm very narrow garage since as i have just done little bits to it to when i have had the time, although lately i have done a little more, sorry if these don't come out right but hope you look. it is pretty solid to be honest with just mostly surface rust on the rear arches and tailgate, the sills are good with just one hole on the drivers side (small) and a few up in the rear wheel wells which i have tackled with the aid of my next door neighbours welder. didn't realise how hard it was to weld but just starting to get the hang of it,hope you like the pics, ps i only paid ?100 for it so i think i got myself a bargain. any thoughts appreciated.

I bought the car off a girl who had just let it start to go to be honest, it had no mot and had been stood for about 18 months before i bought it and thats 5 years ago now. It has been a local car all its life and i used to constantly see it, it was always well looked after. Unfortunately when the girl i bought it off purchased it she had been landscape gardening and had used it to take rubbish to the tip, she had wrecked the carpet so she cut it out. The fuel pump was goosed as it was coughing and spluttering, a new one off a mate for 25 quid sorted that out. I saw the number plate that it used to be on was on another car so i stopped the bloke and it was his exgirlfriends, so i stopped him and he gave me her number, she was just letting it sit there, her brother was going to restore it but he never got round to it. she said she wanted ?250 for it with a new set of bumpers, i offered her ?100 and never took the bumpers and she accepted, i phoned her 18 months later and bought the bumpers for ?70. Not a bad deal i thought and it was very solid under the grime.
