Low, wheels, paint.

Bought my first Mk1 a month back. After a long drive with the VW on the trailer I finally got the car in the garage. Here are some photos I have taken so far. I will take more photos with better quality next time I go to the garage. This is the first time I ever do any bodywork so bear with me
It will have new front end and inner wings because of rust. The front fenders are in order from Germany. Ordered OEM since the repro parts sux donkey balls.

Started by cutting away the old front. Since I am e newbie at this I cut it out in a million pieces

Test fitted the new front. Not the best quality. Will have to do some hammering and cutting to make it fit right.

The reason why I decided to cut off the inner wings.

Here is the first one welded and ground down.

Ok. Here's a picture of the whole car. I am painting it, but haven't decided on color yet. Doing everything myself. New OEM fenders arrived in the mail today together with new rocker panels. I will replace the door with a used one as this has a big dent in it. Also, the car is good in terms of rust considering all the road salt used here in Norway.

Having problems with the front clip I got from type-17.de. Basically it is crooked. At first I thought the flange was a bit short but after meassuring the whole thing it apears that it is shorter on one side when I meassure fron the center. Waste of money, but I will make if fit  :ninja:

So while I figure out what to do with the front clip I started sanding down the hood. The claircoat had alot of pealing so I removed all of the paint. Picture was taken before I was done.

That is all for now. Will be working on the car again tonight so hopefully I will have an update for you tomorrow :)

Edit: If anyone is selling their coilovers and are willing to ship to Norway please let me know  :ocf_emoticons__icon_biggrin:
Also need wheels so send me a message.

Good luck with the project, we're doing one at the moment so I know what you are going through. Is the roof ok by the sunroof? A bonus if it is. Stu.
