83 mk1 gti resto (PORSCHE PEST) sadly everything for sale

AFTER A FEW YEARS PLAYIN AROUND WITH MKI s I DECIDED TO GIVE IT ALL UP SELL MY LAST PRODJECT AND OUT ALL MY SPARES ONLY TO GET BIT BY THE WOLFSBURG BUG AGAIN.SO IVE DECIDED TO DOCUMENT SOME OF THE RESTRO OF MY LATEST £200 FIND WHICH WAS FOUND IN AN ARMY CAMP AND HAD LIVED IN GERMANY FOR A FEW YEARS WERE THE PREVIOUS OWNER WAS BASED.THE CAR WAS MOSTLY SOLID EXCEPT TWO DODGY REPAIRED REAR ARCHES BOTH FRONT WINGS WERE AFTER MARKET WHICH CAME STRAIGHT OFF,AND A GLASS SUN ROOF WHICH HAD TO GO.

 

 FIRST WAS TO FIT SOME GENUINE FRONT WINGS AND THEN SET TO WORK ON THE REAR ARCHES.

BOTH THE DOORS CAME OFF TO REMOVE 28 YEARS OF PARKING DENTS.

 NEXT WAS A SOLID REAR TAIL GATE WHICH I SORCED FROM PLAYERS MEET THIS YEAR .

Really is that what you paid for it????  What a bargain and looks like your cracking on.

Honistly £200 but the rear arches were in a mess and the rear valance,also it had a glass sunroof and some rust around the guttering.no problem ive cut the roof off and had a replacement already welded on.Cheers ror the interest.

Has anyone got any thoughts on having an old style chrome aerial on the n/s/front wing ,Ive just had a roof chop to get rid of the glass sunroof and its got a hole in the rear of the new roof were a bee sting once was and im not shore about having another .Any input would be appreciated.

Original mate bee sting's are rubbish, i will be putting an original on mine or an electronic antenna

the original seats were a bit tatty so i ve got hold of a pair of recaro,s that have been recovered and a pair of sub frames im going to get the rear bench retrimed to match. .

heres the new roof welded on.note no glass sun roof any more yippy

the cars almost ready for the mot as well,fingers crossed it will pass and i can than send of for the log book as its still registerd in germany were it live of a few years on an army camp

there was a couple of points on the o/s front wing that was niggling me so ive sanded it back down to bare metal,hopefully ill get it right the second time around
