83 1.3 Daily Driver

Been meaning to get this going for a little while now… Only had the car about 3 weeks now, but have been at work on it for all 3 of them! Started a new job as well and have only just been paid so the real work can now begin…

This is how she was when I bought her..





Then picked up some wheels from Damlow on here… Not seen alfa dials in 4 stud before.. So picked them up on a Tuesday and then fitted rubber on Friday…




Very happy with them… 165/50 Bridgstone potenza's… Stick like shit to a blanket in the wet…  

Two weeks after picking her up took her up to Volksworld… Amazed at the amount of atttention she got… Even at an aircooled show..   Anyone else go to volksworld? Friend of mine had the baby blue beetle inside with the 17" radars on it.. Badged as a 1300 but actually has a 2litre race spec lump in it… cruises at 120mph at 3.5rpm.. incredible machine..

oh, it was trailered to the show, but youtube it and you'll see its no trailer queen!!  

We are Kerbside Kustoms.. Mainly a bunch of T4's and T5's, but the club has now grown to splits, bugs, and even a couple of 356 speedsters…  :twisted:

Since volksworld, been a busy chap… When i bought the car there was some bubbling above the number plate on around the boot catch and along that panel…

Thought it was just surface rust so stripped the paint away to see how bad it was… Turns out its quite rotten under there…  :cry:

Did what I could to it and just stuck some rust eater and thin layer of paint over it for the time being.. Got plans for a full respray in sating cream/beige planned for the summer.. So will get some major bodywork done then too…

The car came with an amp in the boot, but wires EVERYWHERE!!! Couldn't stand it after a while as I like things tidy.. So bought some cheapo wicker baskets to sit in the back and hide everything… Seems to of worked pretty well as the amp is now hidden (althought it will probably catch fire   ) and I now have a small basket to keep detailing equipment in…

I like it at least!!

So, as she sits now.. Still with a lot of work to do!!!



I work in hospitality so as you lot are all working away in your garages over easter, I'm gonna be slaving away for one of the busiest weekends of the year!!!

Plans for my next days off are camping with the girlfriend.. First weekend away in the Golf…    Not gonna lie tho, I miss my van badly!! Need to get the golf lower though as there's too much air between arch and tyre… Plus get that gti splitter off and replace with a half size one..

Alot more practical for getting away in!!      

The car looks like its in amazing nick mate!!!  I don't like the wheels but that's personal taste…. love the colour of the motor!!!  Just had a look at the passenger in your car lol… he looks like a right ass lol  :wink:

ha ha ha… yeah… right pain in the ass..     She's in very good condition… very minor bubbling under certain spots on the paint, but aside from that very good conidition…

i'm personally not a fan of the colour.. for me something like this is what i dream of..  :twisted:

suits the black bumpers down to a t me thinks…
