1984 gti cabby project

hi new to this site but this my new project
i saved it from scrap man it was stood in abarn for 7 years
it runs drives well


i striped the int to dry it out

the only reel rust is in the reatwing and lower panel
its only done 81000miles and has alot serv his ?

i got this out of abarn it was going to be scraped

stared on the welding today




iv welded the lower val  in today
it still needs to seam welding and  panel beating and it needs a wheel arch to

iv made all the repair panel out sheet metal

iv finished the arches ? i just gave it the first skim of filler to stop the rust for a bit

i found more rust today  :x  



the wheel well was roturn so cut it out I'm going to weld in a new floor and battery tray

got sick of the back end? so started on the front got rid of wiper hole and aerial




all i need to do is  weld the new rear floor and it will all welded up
 then i can start on the paint

good stuff, respect for saving it looks like a fair bit of work!

been looking in to engine conversion today just cant make my mind up  19d or 19td ?
