Hi guys im new to the site and want to share my W.I.P with you
We got it off ebay about 3-4 weeks ago as a spares or repair/ none runner.

Abit about the car that ive found out

1, Someone has fitted a Mk2 golf GTI engine and the wires go all over the place and most things dont work

2, Brakes… well they dont work at all somthing i have to have a look at later.

3, Welding. It needs a new rear arch welding in ( got that )  and front and rear valance need to get them

4, Needs a new door fitting

5, 2 new wings, rust has got them

6, Then a respary

Ive been looking at the car the other day and the engine is not starting so after digging around the engine for abit i found the injectors are blocked so need to get some more.

Anyway here are the start of loads of photos to come :Cool2:

Abit of a update on this as it was nice today
Since the last time i posted we have pulled the engine and gear box out as i couldnt get it to start at all. The plan is to find out what engine will bolt into the engine mounts thats on the car then find a donor car

Here are lots of pics

This is how the day started
The plan was to cut the front pannel out and weld in the new one

Post

Here is the front held in place with self tappers waiting to be welded. I just wanted to make sure everything was in line

End of the day i managed to get it all welded in. Just need to sort the rear valance out and arch but the good thing is well have all the parts now to finish the body work out

Update time

I went to start cutting out the rear arch as it is well dead

But after looking at it, it looks like it will need 2 inner arches too. I wasnt happy at all. When i looked at the side thats had a new arch fitted i found the inner arch doesnt meet the outer arch. Here is the side thats ment to have been done

So with needing to get some inner arches i diddnt make a start cutting the outer one off. So round the back of the car i went to have a look at replacing the rear valance

To find the cars had a bang on the back end and some one has put a load of filler in it

We needed to get the rear as close to been as straight as we could so the new valance would line up right. After having a cuppa and a think about it i thought it would be worth cutting a hole all the way acroos the valance and get some bars up behind the skin of the valance and the inner skin of the car and try push the dint back out. I has over the moon when it worked lol

When the rear was straight again i cut the old valance out and fitted the new one with self tappers for the moment here is how it looked when i finished last night
