1983 1.8 Mk1 Golf GTI CAMPAIGN-HELIOS BLUE.

Hi.

I've been on a few forums for a while, to be honest I pop in and out of these forums and update when I have the time. I'm no mechanic or full on VAG nerd I simply love MK1's and do my best to keep mine simple, clean and standard.
My standard 1.8 Mk1 Golf Gti CAMPAIGN was produced at the German Wolfsburg factory on the 1st October 1983. I've owned the car for around 6 years now having 3 previous owners including the last owner being another Mk1 fanatic. I've kept the car completely standard apart from when I had a small mid-life crisis and started to take the back seats out and considered slamming it etc.. Got over that now though :wink:
The car has done 120K and still drives and handles beautifully. I have a full file of previous MOT's, receipts of any work ever done on the car, tax discs etc…
I now work on it when I can

OK, So did a little bit of work on it the other day. Got it out of the garage. That was a good start. Then I replaced the temporary Mk2 window winders with original Mk1 ones.
The Windscreen wash bottle was leaking so I replaced that with a new one off e-bay.
I also switched the VW steering wheel centre thing with a GTI one…

I got some new re-covered seat's of one of the forums as mine are slightly worn so I set about replaceing the front ones and re fitted the seats in the back, cleaned everything while the seats were out….
