This is our new cabby it's been off the road since 2007 on the way home

The girlfriend has spent some of the weekend cleaning and polishing it.




Given it a good check over
I removed bumpers, seats and grille before cleaning it.
I've fitted a alpine cd player, kenwood rear speakers and new spark plugs.
Ordered new timing belt kit, air filter, oil filter and wipers

Booked MOT for 2mor

It's going to be a keeper. Full service and timing belt kit are first on the list then tax.
A nicer interior and sort roof to window seals as leaking a bit
Then do some bodywork a few small rust bubbles and stone chips etc

She passed with no advises….very happy as has been off the road in someone's garage for 6 years

Fitted the clear side repeaters

Fitted the tinted front indicator lens and started for the first in 3 weeks

Like the indicators mate. Looking good.  

Well the service is finished, timing belt kit, alternator belt, sorted drivers window so closes up hood frame and goes all the way down now.

Club stickers, tax disc holder, 6 months tax and £25 of petrol so already for the girlfriends first drive in the morning (school run)

Fitted new press steel numbers last weekend and tonight a new heater valve

I've not done anything to the cabby since the AGM weekend……….at the show got some side strips, nearside headlight surround and some missing clips.

I picked up a alfa 155 for some parts and came with a set of tsw vemon's on it Dee wants them for the golf………..going get them re-furb plus new tyres

Going to replace some foam on the drivers seat, then clean and repaint them white. Next new carpet set to get, paint wheels, bumpers and arch's white

A bargin if you manage to get them cleaned up.  Was the car an import, as I don't remember white being a UK colour back in 1980?  Thought they came in red, black, brown, sliver and met turquoise about that time. Remember lusting after one at the time before I could learn to drive and dreaming of a brown one with cream roof.

Getting taxed at the end of march…….been to the garage and started it up today
