'OLD RED' My NEW '82 GL CABBY

Just picked up my new project…..A 1982 GL Cabriolet with original steel wheels and hub caps.  4 speed box with 1500 engine.






ONLY ROOM FOR ONE…….1990 GTI CABRIOLET NEEDS TO GO

Current:   Porsche 914 1973
Previous: Ghia, Golf Country 3 Trekkers, 2 Bugs, Trabby, Split Ambulance, Iltis etc.

"older" or did you mean 'other'.  One needs to go…..a clue…not the red one..cos just bought.  The blue one's looking for a new home…..

Glad you approve.  The combination of the 1500 engine and skinny tyres makes for a real nice drive…the gearbox (4 speed) is lovely….The car was found at a dealer in the Midlands…I'm near Liverpool.  It was parked amongst Vectras etc.  Some issues with water leaks at top of A post etc and some detailing…..but, my dream Mk1 spec rally…It had a respray 7 years ago, which is why it is shiny and not pink like ,most other red VW's.

Should tyres be 155 80x13 on these or 70x13?

Are earlier rear indicator lights a lighter colour on cars of this period or have they faded a little over time?
