Hi everyone, I advertised my car a few years ago, I appreciate that I might have put it up for too much but I haven't had any response in 2 years, have I done something wrong? Many thanks. Here's a link to it. https://vwgolfmk1.org.uk/forum/index.php?page=topicview&id=classifieds%2Fcars-for-sale_2%2Fprice-drop-mk1-golf-g40

I can see it from the link but after scrolling through the for sale ads I can't find it.
May I suggest you re-do the ad and that way it'll pop to the top.
People do still use the forum, but Facebook seems to have reduced the traffic here.
Mind you some people have been members for years but don't make many posts……

I might add that it's a very specific car.
Everyone seems to want original GTI's at the moment, unless they can't afford one.
Your car is priced in the region of a 'reasonable' gti or a top of the line cabby.
I appreciate the work that's gone into the engine and it sounds insane! But someones got to really want a G40 in a golf to buy it. It's also along the price point of a good condition polo G40 as I'm sure you're aware.
Perhaps try the polo forums and facebook pages as well?

Many thanks for your reply Ian, I assumed I was the only one wandering the derelict halls of the MK1 owners club. I really appreciate your response, and I totally agree. I'm not on Facebook, but probably should start an account to reach the masses. Feels like selling my soul twice. All the best mate.
