MK3 AAM Engine for my 1990 Clipper??? Will it ? Won't It?

Hi,

I am need a replacement engine for my 1.8 8v 1990.  Mine has been converted with a webber carb.  The head gasket went revealing some corrosion on the engine block.  I have been told a mk3 is easily adaptable into my mk1.  Is this true.  I have found a 1.8 AAM and have been told it will be suitable?  HELP!!!

If so is it just the fly wheel I need to replace and a few blanking plates?
