Mk1s in West Sussex
- the white, lightly modded 1300 Driver always around the COOP in Durrington,
- the very tidy red GTI around Littlehampton
- a metallic blue 4 dr GX(?) around the Goring area.
Any of these you? I drive the tatty faded green thing in the little picture and occasionally wave (if I'm not too busy messing around with the choke to try and get it running right).
Be interesting to know if anyone else comes on here..

I don't think the metallic Blue one is a series one, but will double check. Does have those nice beige seats.
Mine is always driving along the coast between Brighton and Littlehampton areas. I live in Lancing. Tallpete, what colour is your GTI? I'll keep a look out.
Also saw a nice Brown Cabbie out in Worthing last night. On a B plate..Anyones's?
Maybe there are enough of us to do a South Coast meet at some point?

Thanks for the Club GTI link Dub76. Interested in the local specialist. Do you know JMR in Rustington, and are they any good (and not too expensive!)? Not getting any time to work on mine and a bit worried about getting the head off and having it stuck on my drive…Any other good mechanics in the area would be appreciated.
Just seen a red cab on the back on a transporter in Brighton, plus a 4-dr none GTI with a white wing on the seafront. Don't think the red cab was Ben's though judging by the wheels. Either of them on here?
Did anyone else spot the two cabbies on the back of a transporter over the past month or so, parked up next to the BP garage on the seafront just East of Worthing. First a metallic blue, then a yellow one. Both looked tidy enough, but sat there for a fortnight or so, then disappeared.
Think that's enough for now! Laters,

I stuck a note on the yellow cab that was on the back of the trailer. It was a series one and it was a basket case.
I wanted the wheels, they were some flaky allycats.
Ever noticed that transporter doesn't have a company phone no. on? How weird is that.

Ben - the campaign with leather sounds v interesting, but unfortunately I'm strapped for cash atm and have three cars to get back on the road before I take another on. Particularly gutting as I do have a garage in Littlehampton sat empty at the moment, just waiting for another MK1…
Speak soon,
