Mk1 GTI Very Loud and Quick, A50 Stoke on Trent

Came up very quickly yesterday (12 July, my birthday!), flashing strobe-like headlamps, came alongside and thumbs up, no worries hand signals etc, before hitting the gas and belting off over the horizon in a stripped out white GTI. Lovely to get the acknowledgement, so wish my car cooling fan was working and the dog wasn't onboard to allow me to open it up and have fun. I'm pretty sure my small lamp '80 5 door running steelies LOOKS like it could keep up with much though……despite its ABF lump.
