It looks has if they sit higher but it is down to the front end, little different in design to original mk1's, mine is on standard mk1 suspension and sits or should i say looks high compared to originals

they do sit higher as they have different shocks, made for south african roads, sealed units and a right beggar to remove as well, but do-able. was eyeing that golf on ebay peddersgolf reckon u did alright there

as i will be fitting the front end this weekend, will the car now sit lower at the front, as i was able thanks to crazyquiff obtain a pair of original mk1 struts and fit the new shocks, so so longer on SA suspenion.
The info you have given i like to thank you for as i am learning more on this site day by day about this car, cheers bud
P.s. did alright where, lost fella

aye mate all the uk springs and shocks fit, the originals are a beast to get off though and you will need a new set of front legs as original citis are sealed and you will need to cut them. the rear nuts are a pain to get off too as the nuts only insert once after that u need luck, some tea and a strong arm to get them off worth doing though. fancied that one due to colour and 5 speed box. if you get stuck with owt shout out

Thanks bud,
i have now got a set of legs from old mk1 golf, topic here fella
http://www.vwgolfmk1.org.uk/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=11427
So was able to fit new shocks.
once i have fiited these with new springs etc, will the car sit a little lower as it will then no longer be using any of the original SA parts for the suspension.
Thanks again bud
