A couple in Reading...

…saw a nice white mk1 GTi drive past me as I was working in Grosvenor Road, Caversham on Monday 8th Dec.  Mine was parked up on the road. Nice sounding exhaust you've got on there…

Also in Caversham on Tuesday 9th Dec, a clean looking mars red GTI near the library.  I flashed you to let you turn.

Anyone here?

I'm more the calling card type as I'm not overly confident in approaching people and chit chatting… that's why the cards are handy for me and others like me…. rather be as confident as you though but hey ho.

Pity he's selling… wonder if the other one uses this forum… soon find out hopefully.

I do as a matter of fact.  You're not the other lhasa green mk1 that I sometimes see parked there are you??  The one with black alloys and performance VW sticker?

Thought it might be you! There can't be many other Lhasa green ones in Reading, I think I know of one other and thats about it. Yeah thats me, the tracky style alloys are a temporary measure as the rh cups I bought for it don't fit over my brakes :( yours looks tidy…

Cheers.  I'm going to keep it pretty stock I think.

That's a shame about the RH Cups.  Is there nothing that can be done about that?

Hopefully see you at David Lloyd at some point (need to shed those xmas pounds…)

Not really no, not unless I get smaller brakes… Which I don't :) so I'll still with these for a bit and keep a look out for some nice rims that are a bit bigger on the inside.

Yeah I'm sure we'll catch each other one day soon, take it easy.

All good mate, mines MOTed now, but need to sell the Cab before I can switch insurance over.   Well, not entirely true, the DVLA missed out half the VIN number on my V5 when I shifted it to my parents house, so it doesn't match my MOT cert.  Idiots.  So sorting that before I can tax it.

Come down the next mk1 owners club meet for a cheeky pint mate, catch up.  Hows tricks yourself? Mk1 OK?

Thats good mate, shame about the dvla cock up but progress none the less!

Mines good thanks, done about 4k in it now, and been driving it pretty much everyday for the last few months with no problems :) not used to that lol. Still loads of bits I want to do to it but have no inspiration with this climate, weather and financial!!

I will try I make it down for the meet, providing the cars all ok.
