Good day everyone.
as the title says , I have got a 5-speed diesel gearbox from '81 for free and wondering if there is any ways to fit it to a small block .
will the gear ratio match ? Any modifications to flywheel ?
I asked in other forum about that and somebody told me that the engine is rotating other way . Is that true ?
Cheers.

I doubt the engine rotates the other way, big block g/box wont just bolt up to a small block, as far as I know, and I think the ratios would be far too tall for a 1.1 anway..

Best to think of small block and big blocks as totally different vehicles. There's prob more different than the same, esp when comparing a GTI or Diesel vs a 1.1/1.3.

The trouble with doing nothing is that you never know when you are finished.

thank you .
The thing is that for the moment I want to keep it pretty much stock . but reliability and MPG are killing me as i want to drive it daily . For the city 4-speed is okay but on long range it is a madness unless you go 100 km/h
I thing I will save money for a later swap on AFH but in my city it's a bit of struggle to find it .
