Anyone got these on their MK1, or know if they were an original wheel/option?

Thanks

There were some I have seen in white on a few all white cabbys and featured in the brochure they were more common in the USA I think, but could have been a dealer option over here in  silver

Think they were "Zandvoorts" when VW called their alloys after race circuits in the 80s/90s. Standard on some Passats and options or dealer accessories on Golfs in the late 80s and early 90s. Not sure if they were 13 or 14 inch or available in both?

Interesting, thanks - do you know if the wheels on the red one are 13" as per the description for the white one? The ones I posted are 14"… I am undecided.

I thought it might look more similar to this

14's will fit fine as I have silverstones on my cabbie that are 14.From cabby-info.com

With the age of this car and the WWW Web, even tho more common in US, wouldn't imagine that it wasn't avail as an option elsewheres.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Thanks for all the help. I've managed to buy some "Le Castellet" alloys now (although I have a 6 hour round trip to look forward to, to collect them). They're definitely better than the aftermarket ones my car came with, and should clean up well with a refurb.

They're 14" - Can someone confirm what tyre size I should be going with? 185/60? My car is a 1.8 8v mk1 GTI "F" reg, if that makes any difference?

I worked for possibly the largest dealer outside of one in London in the UK from the end of 83 for five years and I've never known these wheels to be fitted as an dealer fit.

Not saying it couldn't or didn't happen but at that time we were all selling BBS so I think those would have come later after the car left the dealership in the U.K.

But all this does not matter because you like the wheels and it's your Mk1 not ours! 😉 👍🏼

Hi Mike, Are you referring to the Zandvoort wheels or the  Le Castellet wheels?

Thanks

Yup 185/60 would have been standard on these wheels.
