195/50/15 tyre pressure
Hi, Just got my MK1 Caddy back from its first MOT in 2 years since it was taken off the road for a full change of clothes (and underwear). It passed its MOT eventually, smoked a bit and was difficult to get on the lifts due to where ive put the exhaust!. Anyway, on the drive home I noticed the car bounces at the front. I'm running coilovers (lowered to a respectable level) with a MK1 GTI anti sway bar (so is somewhat stiffer than the wallow of the original Caddy set up) and 195/50/15s on G60 Steels. Any idea what tyre pressure I should run? Id rather the ride was a little harsh than bouncy. I see plenty of pics on this great site of cars with the same wheel/tyre set up so guess someone will have experimented with this to get it right? Cheers

What tyres are fitted? XL rated tyres need higher pressure to keep their load rating, Most tyre fitters are not even aware of this. Probably not that relevant on a golf but my Mondeo runs XL at 42psi to keep it's load rating.
My golf also runs the same but that's due to stretch.

Is it bouncy because you are driving on the bump stops because it's low or using a cheap coilover kit?

As above, the tires are not likely to be causing that.
Try it for yourself by running them at 28 all round and then say 34.
I run my Dunlops on my BBS wheels at 32 wet or dry (195/50/15) and have been really happy with them. They really do stick!
