I ran the older (first picture ) ones for 9 years on my old clio 172 and although everybody moans about them i found they did all i asked of them. But the newer ones are supposed to be an improvement i believe but i dont really like the look of the tread pattern..

It was a mk1 tintop, on jenveys and emerald ecu, but i just got it running and was made redundant, so it was broken up and never made the road.. 15 years ago now..

The 1st one is directional so if you wish to swap your tyres around to even out wear you can only move them to the back of the car.
With the 2nd tyre you should be able to swap them to the opposite corner of the car.
I guess it's all down to how many you need and if you wish to move them around the car…
Cant comment on what they are like as not got them on my Golf.

I have the ones on the first pic and find them dodgy in the wet. I was surprised as I'd have thought the pattern would disperse water. Maybe it's the compound or something.
They are cheap though so I suppose I shouldn't be that surprised. I normally run Yokohama on the golfs, but went cheaper on Minx as I was out of money. That'll teach me

So not a fan then? I thought people liked the Toyos.
At the moment I have 3 Rainsports and a Pirelli. PO liked to have something different on each corner

I've been very happy with my Goodyear efficient grip performance tyres, grippy in the wet and dry.
I Think that's your size?
Goodyear EfficientGrip Performance 195/50 v 15 Tyres | Free Fitting | Tyre Shopper
Got Avon's on the Scirocco and they are scary in the wet..
Had Hankooks on the Golf before the Goodyear's but they seemed to wear out quickly.
Uniroyal before the Hankooks they was good and grippy but noisy.
If you did what the Toyo I would go for the 2nd one as better in the wet than the 1st one

They seem to get consistently good reviews.
Yeah, mine are 195/50/15.
