Hello

I own a 1987 mk1 cabrio
I thinking to buy a set of shock from manufacturer that is name – "TA Teachnix"
The shocks a looking great (in the photo) and its allow you to low the car from 30mm to 70mm

The question is who is – "TA Teachnix"? did someone install it? can someone please can tell ?

Generally TA Technix are cheap. They work but they aren't the best.

They tend to be quite bouncy tbh. I've had a set of TA Technix and I put them on used the car a few times then took them off and sold them.

You get what you pay for!

They are awful! Just took them off my car. They were doing my head in. (And my spine too!)

Stock shocks and springs are far better, or get some half decent lowering springs and shocks.

I have a set on my 89 cabby, it depends what wheels and tyres you run IMO. If you run wheels with a nice amount of tyre "13-14" the ride isn't too bad at all.

When you start reducing the tyre sidewall with bigger diameter wheels the ride stiffness becomes more apparent.

If comfort is important then I'd say go for shocks and springs, however if looks are important (ability to adjust and set up the ride height) and good ride quality then you will have to look at much more expensive coilovers.

Yeah, I was running 15's with low profiles but in order to get the wheels off the arch trim I had to compress the spring a little. Had it probably -30/-40mm which they are meant to be ok with. I guess just not for me. But they weren't great even on the 13's and lowered more.

Jom coilovers are meant to be the best of the budget coils.

I'm in the market for some cheap ones so I've been doing a bit of research. Probably going down the JOM route.
