Speedo cables - Mk1 Scirocco GTI RHD

Post

Evening - Can anybody advise.

I run a late 1981 Mk1 Scirocco GTI and the speedo gauge is bouncing around at low speeds - signs of a worn cable I'm told.

The Mk1 Sciroccos all ran with the older style cone dashboard/clocks set up so I'm hoping/assuming I'd need a cable as per 79-80 pre-facelift GTI.

The MK2 Scirocco has the clip on job - did they change Golfs at the facelift stage to the same or did they retain the twist on cable for all Mk1 Golfs?

If that's the case - is there is a source for twist on Mk1 GTI speedo cables?

Thanks in advance.

The older types mk1's had a screw on cable end similar to the tranny side IIRC.  The Newer Cabriolet types used
the Clip style on the speedo and the Screw cap on the tranny.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?
