Slight wheel foul on brake caliper. Spacer or fettle caliper

Just fitting some Dare 15 x 8 wheels to my 1989 cab. Rears fit great, fronts have approx 2mm foul on calipers. Has anyone out there ground a bit off the caliper? I'd rather not go down the spacer route, but will if I have to. Comments suggestions appreciated.

is it the carriers that are hitting? if so fit early mk1 1.5-1.8 carriers they dont have the big hoop round the front

I had this problem once, as RJ says the big hoop was fouling the inside of the wheel.  I used a flap disc in a grinder to shave a LITTLE bit off the carrier.  Had no probs since.
