Which tyre sizes to use with these wheels
Hi there,
I recently purchased some original 13" scirocco storm alloy wheels to put on my 78 Scirocco GT.
The current steel wheels have 155R 13 79T fitted, but the wheels I bought don't have any tyres fitted.
Any ideas what tyres I should use on these wheels? (the same as the existing? Or something different?) Any preferred brands etc?
Here's a picture of the wheels after I painted them yesterday, hopefully they will be a great improvement to the look of the car
Part number for the wheels is: 311601025g
Thanks for any help
David

What width are the wheels? if 5 1/2 j as the mk1 golf i would have a guess at the same size tyre, which is 175/70 x 13. Some one else may know for a fact.

Just looked at the oemepc online. Your part number is not recognised but 321601025G is. It shows the same pattern.
Assuming your wheels have something like 5,5JX13H2 ET38 stamped on them then a tyre size 175/70 x 13 would be appropriate.
I have 5.5J steel wheels fitted with 5,5JX13H2 ET38 tyres on my Mk1 Golf.
Please check that number 5,5JX13H2 ET38 is stamped on your wheels. If there is a 14 instead of a 13, it's a different ball game.

Looks that way. You could go thinner.. but that's not the oem size then.. 170 /60/13

To clarify, 175/70 x 13 would be appropriate for your size of wheel 5.5 x 13.

Yes 175/70 13 is the original size tyre fitted.
That's the size fitted to my 13 by 5.5 wheels on my Mk1 Scirocco.
