Replaced steering rack, turning circle decreased?

Post

I recently bought a new steering rack, rack ends and tie rods and had a mechanic fit them and do a wheel alignment.

The car feels better to drive, but when I made a U turn in my street to park I couldn't make the full turn without backing up. It feels like the car's turning circle has decreased.

Would anyone know what's going on and what could be causing this? Could I have gotten a rack with less teeth or something?

Car is a 93 Cabby, non-power steering if that matters. I got this steering rack here: https://au.vwheritage.com/172419063-steering-rack-mk1-golf-scirocco-exc-1-3-cabriolet

Any help is appreciated! Thanks

Do you mean the turning circle has increased?? if you didn't get round in one go, but that dosnt matter. Is it the same turning left and right?  If its better one particular way, would suggest something is not centred.

No, the turning circle has decreased. I live on a one way street so often do U turns on it. Previously the car could complete the U turn in 1 maneuver,  now I have to back up for a 3 point turn.

The turning circle feels decreased both in turning left and right, but left feels a little bit better.

Visually, the alignment appears off. It looks like the left (passenger) wheel is toe in by 1 - 2 inches. This is only me setting the drivers side wheel parallel to the wheel arch and the than jumping over to look at the passenger side, not a proper evaluation.
