O2A box running on ABF engine. Cable Clutch. Resistance.

Post

Hello,

I am looking for a bit of help on this one as I am stumped at the moment.

I recently replaced the older box on my ABF engine with a O2A box, I kept it cable clutch.

I got it on the road this evening but something just isnt not right there seems to be a degree of resistance from the car.

Does this ring any bells with anyone or does anyone have any suggestions on what could be causing this ?

Thanks
Stevie

have you got a little bit of slack on the cable? if not try snipping off a few coils from the inner cable tube, the bit that looks like a spring.

not quite sure what you mean, resistance on the clutch pedal or the car feels like its holding back or binding?

Hey, Sorry the cable clutch was to just let people know I didn't keep the box hydro, I have replaced the box with a newer one and still got the same problem so I managed to narrow it down to the brakes, I have no idea why the front brakes are binding up ( 4 pot wilwoods) but I have managed by pulling the brake pedal back a few times release them and the car is drivable. I reckon with it sitting for a while the master cylinder may have got dry seals or something similar.

maybe check the adjustment of the crossbar, make sure it has a bit of slack in it. what master cylinder did you install, and if you put a mk2 servo on there did you reduxce the length of the thread on the back and fit the mk1 clevis pin?
