Mk1 cabriolet power steering rack

Hi does anyone know if the power steering rack from a right hand drive mk1 golf cabriolet will fit on a 1983 mk1 golf gti

If it fits the soft top it should fit the tintop, all the same in that area. However as far as I know right hand drive mk1,s never came with power steering from the factory, so what/where is it from and is it really suitable.

you'll need the complete kit from the donor, sicne as above its not a factory unit. there were companies back in the day who offered this as a retro fit, you could even get it done through VW if you wanted.

TSR offered the kits a while back as well, they might even still do them?

then there are various scrapyard sources people have used, nissan bluebird is supposedly what was done back in the day and there is one from a random mazda that fits. plenty infos out there if you're willing to dig
