Help finding out about original wheels

Post

Hi all
My car is a mk1 golf gti 1.8 cabriolet 1992
I want to try and find out about what wheels would have been fitted to it originally and the size
Car was originally in Malta
No car info sticker in bar on boot
Any ideas or pics would be greatly appreciated

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

If this is is the Paprika Red one with the manual roof and the leather interior that belonged to Lou then it's a later one. It's an odd car 'cos none of the stuff that it would have had is there but it has that great interior! All later cabbies had electric roofs and electric windows but that one doesn't. It's very strange!

Most of these that came from the dealers stock had 14" steel wheels. The tyres would have been 185/60 R14's.

I have a set here. Let me know if you're interested.

Yes that's the right car. Done some research and a guy helped me on here with supplying roof cables. His opinion is that the car was ordered by customer when new specifying they wanted a manual roof.
Thanks very much for the information you have provided.
So you got a full set of steels?
You got any age related golf alloys?
Just thinking about possibly one day going back to original wheels or age related alloys that were fitted to the golf's.
Bit unsure still but at least I got 4 lensos on there at the moment that look great

They do look good on it. They're also an OEM copy-ish of the BBS RM / RS style of wheel. You should have seen the horrible 17" wheels it had on it when Lou bought it  :o

I've also got some 14" P-slots that would have been an option at the time of purchase.

No doubt we'll meet soon and we can have a chat.

Cheers
