Brake Linkage Bearings

How to remove the bearings

How do you remove the bearings from the brake linkage (part no:172 721 712 B / 172 721 712 C). The metal has been peened to retain the bearing rather than use something like circlips.

I have tried pressing but it didn't budge (might have been too gentle).

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

We don't have those over hear LHD and all, but the first thing I would do is to clean the bejeezers out of them, rotating the bearings to git all the grit out of those, then
Pack them with good Marine grade Grease and see how they feel.

When I have to press out bearings in the past, I supported the bearing and you have to remember if they are peaned in the bracket are they peaned on both sides? as you want to press them out in the direction of the pean marks.

So on the pean side I would use a socket that is a deep well as large as the diameter of the part holding the bearing so it has a place to leave from.
On the opposite side I would use a large "C" clamp and a socket the same size or slightly sammler than the outer race as the press point, then tighten the Screw.  This usually worked for me on smaller bearing over the years.

But cleaning it would be the first thing, re-greasing it and checking it for play, as there is no way I would start this adventure without finding a replacement first in case ca-ca occurs.

What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.
