Brake lines to compensator

Post

Hi
Nearing the completion of my rebuild but have a question regarding the brake lines.

I have a brand new set of pre-cut brake lines and have just run them from the master cylinder and under the car. Both of the rear lines fall about a foot short from the compensator.

As standard is it meant to be two direct lines from the master cylinder to the compensator or did they have a join in??

After compensator is it just a direct line to each rear cylinder hose?

Many thanks

There is a join in them just down from the master cylinder for that braking system. It's listed as 'pressurizing valve' and 'Connecting piece' (Bits 17 and 18 on the lower of the two diagrams below)

Part numbers are 113611191  for the Valve [18] and 171611789 for the connecting piece [17]

if its got rear discs then you wont need thosem, what i did on my mk1 cabrio was fit 2 t pieces there and threaded my pbrake light switches in there, this was perfect for me since i had nowhere for them to go on my mk2 master cylinder as it only had 2 outlets
