Brake bleeding help needed

Post

Hi after a bit of advice.
i have an 82 cabriolet and have changed the entire braking system including brake lines front to rear. I'm now having trouble bleeding the system. It took forever to get some fluid into the system, but can't seem to remove the air now. This may seem a silly question but how long should I push on with this. I have checked the system and there are no signs what so ever of any joint leaking and I have left it a while and have lost no fluid from the reservoir at all, the brakes are now working but pedal low due to air. So do I just plug on. Thanks.:ocf_emoticons__BangHead:

When I restored the GTI it included replacing pretty much the entire brake hydraulic system.

I too had a problem trying to bleed the sodding thing.

I put it down to the system being 100% air and it simply compressing when depressing the pedal and not let fresh fluid in. Normally when bleeding the system after replacing a part or simply to refresh the fluid there is 95%+ fluid in the system and each pedal stoke has something to push.

I think I either persevered or used an easy bleed type kit to fill the system and then bled as normal.

Yeah I think plugging on hopefully will resolve. Just had a read up and when an entire system is being bled you should start at the right rear, then left rear, right front then left front.
Hope this helps.
