advice on front springs for abf conversion

Post

I'm still finding I'm getting slight rubbing with the h & r front springs. It's a set for the standard 8v and I think I need slightly higher rated springs for the abf.

I'm fairy sure I've got a 30+mm drop it's not dragging on the ground or anything I'm happy eth the ride height it's just under heavy cornering I feel the springs have too much travel causing the rubbing.

Does anyone have a non coilovers setup on a tdi/abf/vr6  setup? Just looking for advice on spring ratings and what would be more suitable for modified engines. I don't imagine there is a huge weight difference between 8v and 16v but I don't know how to go about measuring spring ratings without going out and buying multiple  sets..

What size rims/tyres/et do you have , I ran 7x15/195/50 et 35 for several years, only moderately lowered with no rubbing ever.

So your wheels are possibly sticking out about 20mm more than mine were.

Hi,

You need to check which springs you have there are a number of different H&R springs depending upon the car front and rear weight
