Mk1 starting/running issues- Specialist needed

Post

Hi Gentlemen,

Pretty crappy for my first post but I have been trying to get my beloved mk1 golf GTI clipper back on the road after letting her sit for a while. I want to get her mechanically sound before I start on the bodywork.

I have finally got her to start but seems to die very easy and is seems to be running very rich as a strong smell of petrol and black sparkys. I am really looking for someone who knows these injections systems to fix. I am based in west London, Greenford. Does anyone know anyone who could help? Does have to be a garage could be someone who has experience in the k-jet.

Thank you in advance.

That's normally the way people find us Jim, so I wouldn't worry about it :) - we're at least glad you're here!

Thank you. Just hope I can find someone who can help. I fear if I don't get her up and running soon or a solution I may end up letting my pride and joy go.

Nah don't do that, you're in the right place so I wouldn't worry :)

Also I think I read your name wrong, oops! Unless it is Jim? :D
