Issues starting

Hi all,

I'm still very inexperienced on here and really after a bit of help/ advice - I hope this is the right place to post. 

I'm trying to get my 81' 1.6 Gli fired up after a few years off the road. When you turn on the key it sparks fine, starts, idles high and then cuts straight out. Fuel gets to the injectors ok, the pumps brand new and all seems ok. I've had it in a garage recently and they weren't able to do any more than I already had. 

If any has any ideas I'd be very grateful. Once it's up and running I'll get it cleaned and some photos up.

have a read thru this thread, ignore the 16v bits just concentrate on the basic kjet tests:
