In Take fuel sender unit in/out??

I have recnetly bought a mk1 project and they have taken the fuel lines off the tank. I have come to put the back in but the unit in the tank has no marking on to show which is out or in. On a mk2 they have a little arrow. Doe it matter which is which on a mk1?

This is my first mk1 so I am a little unsure. thanks in advance.

If you take out the fuel sender you will see it your self  But am a nice guy so here you see ,left in right out.
