Wiring for an additional fuel pump

Post

Hi,

Hoping someone can help with this. Rubjonny? You've helped me no end in the past with your posts so thank you.  :thumbs:I am just starting a 9a 16v conversion into my 1.8 carburettor clipper cab.
The 16v will be ran on Suzuki GSXR600 bike carburettors.

I have done all the wiring for the ECU and TCI units and they should work fine (again thanks to a previous rubjonny post)

I think I have everything I need to get cracking and make a start.

I'm going to use the Suzuki fuel pump as it will output the correct pressures for the carburettors, all I need to know is where I can power this from.
My golf doesn't have a lift pump so I cant use that existing circuit.

My first thought was that I could use the carb heater circuit for power to the fuel pump (relay 1?). and then earth back to the earthing point on the fusebox. Would this be correct?
The reason for this is that I want the pump to turn on with cranking and stay on but I also need to it cut off if stalled.

Any advice would be amazing as this is the only thing I am not 100% on at the moment.

Thanks :)Joe

pop in a kjet fuel relay without limiter, GSF part number 935VG0090

then you would power it either from the big spade N with an inline fuse or add a big round pin to plug E on the rear wiring harness pin 14 :)

Absolute top man :ocf_emoticons__notworthy:I knew you would know this.

So just to be certain, I am slotting that relay you suggested into relay number 1 and then taking +ve from spade N to the pump.

Thanks, once again for your help with this.

Cheers
Joe
