Wipers help

Hi Guys

In my 1983 GTI my wipers only work on high speed and when you turn off they don't go back to the rest position.

Any hints?

Might be worth giving the actual wiper motor arms / connection points a strip down and clean up

Mk1 2l TSR G60. .getting. There twice as fast

Mk1 lhd diesel…….getting. There for half the cost

Just dissamble and clean? Any hints?

Maybe use a bit of masking tape to mark where the wipers are sat, and do one section at a time.
