Struggling to identify last connector on my dash loom

Post

Really really struggling to identify a connector and a few spade connectors on my dash loom, I've gone through so many articles on here and wiring diagrams.
Theres a grey and blue wire (some kind of interior lighting linked to the dimmer)
Black and green that goes to a spade near the fusebox
Black which goes to the horn relay
Really have no idea what it's for, everything is account for

The loom was hanging out of the car when I got it, so never got the chance to label it

I've pretty much got everything labeled up on the loom now, apart from that and a few spade connectors on the fusebox end

Many thanks

Forgot to say it's a ceramic type fusebox

I've looked at 3 other mk1's and they were all blade type, they didn't have this extra connector. Not that I could make out

Mine also doesn't have mfa for some strange reason, I thought all 1800's had mfa?

Date of registration is may 1982. When did they bring out blade type fusebox?

My managers is also an 82 and his is blade type

VDO oil temp gauge

99% sure mfa didnt come in until the blade fusebox regardless of the engine type :)

Ah ok, that clears loads up, would explain why it has a illumination feed. But a bit confusing as it's not on the haynes wiring diagram. It would explain why it's an extra loom that unplugs

I ruled the centre console gauges out as I don't have any, they have blanks in. Also strange I have the loom for vdo oil temp but not any of the others

But thank you, was really scratching my head with this!!

Dash loom is done and repaired :D cut the immobiliser out. Didn't require as much repair as I thought :)

possible it was specced for the oil temp gauge only originally, but its gone missing over the years. either that or the dash loom was originally S1 and has been converted, they have oil temp VDO as std dont they?

Yeah I'm beginning to think early ones might have the vdo gauge as standard then, especially as none of the other golf's I looked at had it and they were the blade type

Also saves me a bit of hassle as I plan to wire the 3 gauges in anyway :)

Apologies before hand if I clog the electrical section up with "what's this" and "where does this go" for the next month th whilst I sort all my looms out! Saying that the dash one went smoothly, just got to triple check diagrams and everything :)

Definitely a VDO oil pressure or temp gauge wiring.
