Speedo broken

Hi I've just got my gti back on the road and noticed that the speedo doesn't work but the mileage does?

Any ideas or advice?

sounds liek you'll need a new speedo unfortunately, but try fiddling with the oddometer reset button.

it may be the needle is loose on the spindle so thats worth a look too
