Single spindle wiper motor?

Post

Not sure if this should go here or in modified section but here goes-

Previous owner fitted a single wiper to the front of the golf. Not my preference, but at the moment - anything that works stays!

Unfortunately there is no wiper arm in the box of parts that came with it, so I have no idea which one will do the job. So now i'm trying to identify which wiper motor it is so I can start there. Of course the part number has partially rubbed off, but even the bit that is still there doesn't seem to make sense?

So its a long shot, but does anyone know which wiper motor it is? Or likely to be? I heard rear wipers from sciroccos can be used, but this part no. doesnt seem to match that..?!

When you say there is no arm do you mean the arm with the blade on which wipes the screen or the workings going to the arm?
You will need a Mk1 Scirocco workings to keep the 1 wiper arm and Mk1 golf workings to fit 2 wipers.

The wiper arm does not fit straight on to the motor.

There is a lot of wiper motors that fit, Mk1 golf, Mk2 golf and Mk3 golf motors all fit and Mk1 and Mk2 Scirocco, jetta, transporter etc……..

They all have the same size spine to fit the workings.

I've fitted a Mk3 Golf wiper motor (plenty about and cheap to buy) to my Mk1 Scirocco with a single wiper as it's faster then my 36 year old orginal motor.

You just need a bit of the wiring loom to change the plug over.
