Oil pressure

Ok this is the position of my oil pressure sender on the head, this was ok when I had a 1900 bottom end but since rebuilding the engine with a 2.0 block the oil pressure is now lower,I believe this is because of the oil ports on the 2.0 block are different therefore not giving a true reading of the oil pressure ? Am I right in thinking I could remove the sender from the head and place it in one of the ports I have on the oil filter housing and then blank the head port ?

what is it displaying? bottom end should have no effect on pressure. what it may be is the camshaft bearign caps are worn, this will lower the pressure you see at the head. but if you want a more true reading of pressure put it in the filter housing, this is more direct off the oil pump and before any losses you see at the head

At start up it shows good pressure and then warming up it falls back to 1 bar on the gauge I have put a mechanical gauge on the oil filter housing to find a true reading and the pressure is good(as you would expect from a newly built engine) really just want to varify that its ok to blank the outlet on the head and move the sender unit down to the oil filter housing ?

1bar is ok, the warning is set at 0.3bar :)

and yes its fine to move the pressure sender and blank the head outlet if you like (or you could put your oil temp sender there) 16v engines are all setup like this anyway

Already got a oil temperature sender in the front of the oil filter housing will keep that there and mount the oil pressure sender on the top port I think ? Thanks for reply
