newbie with a load of electric issues

Post

Picked up my mk1 1.6 gli cab on Sunday and am working my way through all the electrical jobs that need doing. Not my strong point!!. So far I've found that
horn not working
no mfa
reversing light staying on
blowers not working
loads of connectors in engine bay loose
wipes barely move
hazzards work but no indicators
lights very dim so have ordered an uprated loom

Car initially wouldn't even think about starting. I managed to sort this with a fuel relay, then it would start and pretty much cut straight out. strangely I have removed the clocks whilst I investigate why the fuel gauge doesn't work and the car started and ticked over for around 30 sec then died. The fuel lines look shot so am taking these off and getting them renewed. I have opened the fuel tank and inspected the fuel gauge this looks ok. I have also bridged the wires and the fuel gauge still doesn't work. I have read that the voltage stabilizer could be to blame on the clocks but can't find where to get one. Any pointers greatly appreciated

another set of clocks probably the easiest option, can plug em in and see if they work ok or not for starters to show if its your clocks or the wirign then strip for spares if need be
