Only way I know to reset them is to unplug the battery (take the earth - side off) and leave it off for at least 10 mins then reconnect and see if that helps. Don't forget your radio code if you have one.
If still the same read out then there is a problem with the MFA which is more than a reset.

oil temp only works above 50degrees, mpg iirc will show low figures when sat but obv it wont show anything useful unless you're driving along. it should cycle thru all the modes though for sure

nope just ignition on. check the mfa stalk wiring next, is it a later one with 1/2 button and push on the end? if so its a 4 pin plug. 2 of them run to a 2 pin plug that plugs straight into the back of the clocks, one of them goes to the main plug on the bottom and the last one goes off to the fusebox area to a male spade plug along with the clocks earth. then a wire from the engine bay plugs into it. check the wires to the side of the head to start with, one of these is the dash earth its a brown/white ring terminal.

Cheers will check yes it's the later one with the 1/2 and push button I notice when I was taking the number 3 fuse out there was a spade connecter near the fuse box that was gust hanging down not plugged in to anything could this have something to do with it and we're is the wire located at the side of the head please cheers

it should be on the side flange nut, but it coudl be anywhere these days. basically just look at your wiring to the engine for a brown/white wire and check its clean and tight. while you're there may as well check all the other wiring you can find ;)

as for the spade it could be anything, whats the wire colour? best to trace it as it might be a random extra put there by someone

ok i would check the stalk wires next, check the earth with a multimeter for continuity to ground. it may be damaged somewhere in the engine loom.

if you get a loop of wire and pop it into the earth pin, then poke it into the others one at a time the mfa should react, try them all one of them will do the mode select button. if non of them do this then its the wiring or clocks. if it does react then look at your stalks

of course it may be you have some non-mfa internals swapped into an mfa shell!
