What do Divorces, Great Coffee, and Car Electrics all have in common?

They all start with GOOD Grounds.

Where are my DIY Links?

Well Make Model and year helps in decoding the wire colors, but the Browns are ground.

Are the others white/red and white/black or white/blue or green? as those would typically to me to be the upshift indicators wires from the dizzy and the transmission on the later Scirocco's.

those are for the MFA shift light & mpg needle. green/white is for the  early type multi-pin reverse switch, it tells the clocks you're in 5th gear. the red/white is the vacuum switch for the shift light, and brown is the earth for both of the above

So… is it something missing?

Where should I connect it?

yes there would be a section of loom from those 2 plugs to the early style multi-pin reverse switch and the vacuum switch.

however I can see you have late style 2 pin reverse switch, so even if you had the loom section it wouldnt plug in anyway.

you only need this loom if you have early type clocks with the big MPG needle up top with shift light, if it has later clocks then you dont need to worry
