green/red and brown for the washer pump, iirc the gti have the plug on the passenger side near the turret same as the non-gti but have an extension loom that plugs in here to then run over to the driver side

John,

I found two wires one
Green/red and one white/red.

Brown is ground, may I use other ground?

Any hints what White/Red could be?

Below is a picture

Thanks!!!

yes the brown is ground, it woudl be tapped into the main brown back to the battery negative.

I would take a closer look at your wiring, it looks to have had some wiring repairs so the wire colours may not be correct. I can see a taped joint where a brown wire has a white connected to it for example…

Yes I will look into it. White /red should be of outside temp then!

possibly, or vacuum switch for upshift light on dash depending on where it runs from. it looks quite thick though so it may not be for either, best to chase it and see where it comes from!

Great… The vacuum sensor is conected but shiftlight does not come up, i'm quite sure the relay is not in good condition so I guess the white/red wire could be of outside temp.

Anyhow first I will test the wiper washer and let you know!

there is a spade plug connecting the engine side of the reverse/upshift wiring to the car side. this plug is not sealed so its possible you have corrosion build up here, unplug and check :)

I dont have one to hand unfortunately, but if you start at the reverse switch and follow the wiring you'll find the plug I mean :)
